April is Child Abuse Prevention Month

In 2008, Prevent Child Abuse America introduced the pinwheel as the new national symbol for child abuse prevention through Pinwheels for Prevention®.  The pinwheel connotes whimsy and childlike notions.  It has come to serve as the physical reminder of the great childhoods we want for our children.

Our organization joins in with others across the country to recognize the importance of our children, their future, and the things we can do every day to make sure they have the great childhood they deserve today.

Apri is Sexual Assault Awareness Month

Every April, the National Sexual Violence Resource Center (NSVRC) coordinates the national Sexual Assault Awareness Month (SAAM) campaign to educate and engage the public in addressing this widespread issue.  This year's theme- "I ASK"- champions the message that asking for consent is a healthy, normal, and necessary part of everday interactions.

The Clothesline Project is a display to address the issue of violence against women, men, and children

  • to help with the healing process for people who have lost a loved one or are survivors of this violence
  • to educate, document, and raise awareness of the extent of the problem of sexual violence.
  • to provide a nationwide network of support, encouragement and information for other communities

The purpose of the project is:
